Valentia Stool: Tradition and Innovation in Harmony
We are thrilled to unveil this exquisite piece—a seamless blend of creativity, historical essence, and pioneering design principles, deeply rooted in Ireland's rich cultural heritage and architectural finesse.
Birthplace: Valentia Island
The Valentia slate quarry, renowned as the oldest quarry in Ireland, serves as inspiration for the Valentia Stool. When working on the visuals for a proposed upgrade to the Bray tower on Valentia Island, which was a watchtower against Napoleon's invasion, we discovered the quarry and its monumental architectural history. Landmarks like Westminster's Houses of Parliament and the Paris Opera House resonate through the island's storied past. From the rugged terrain of Valentia's mountain emerges the resilient Valentia Slate, boasting unparalleled durability and natural insulating properties.
